As Duck likes to say, he may not make you dance, but he can tell you some stories and play a little guitar. With JIMMY "DUCK" HOLMES - LIVE AT BRIGGS FARM, Duck delivers what Living Blues Magazine calls, "unadulterated, original roots blues in an ethereal, gritty and roughhewn style. In this concert the artist tells his stories in a dozen tracks, slowly and deliberately, in an almost languid style, including the previously unrecorded Bath Water."

The album has received multiple award nominations (including a Blues Music Award nomination for Best Acoustic Album and Best Acoustic Artist) and demand for the record continues to grow through word of mouth.  Richard Briggs explained what makes the live recording so compelling, "Capturing these musicians in a live audience setting is like magic. The artists feed off of the audience, which makes for some very special impromptu moments, just something that can’t be recreated in a studio setting. It’s timeless.”

Feeling like an old 78, a very limited run of the record was pressed in France on 180g vinyl.  Each record also comes with a digital download card.  The record is also available on BLUE vinyl.

“Make No Mistake: Jimmy Duck Holmes is a major blues figure, the most important active performer in the country blues tradition" and "the greatest living country bluesman" - Geoffrey Himes, Paste Magazine

"It’s like backholler mountain moonshine, more so than Johnnie Walker. This is hardcore, even haunting deep-roots folk blues." - Frank Matheis - Living Blues Magazine

"Holmes’ blues are mesmerizing, often rather eerie, and subtle." - Jim Hynes - Elmore Magazine
